General Laborer

 

Hydro Tech Utilities is currently looking for a General Laborer with civil construction experience to work out of our Spring, TX office.

General Laborer member’s pay rates from $8.25 -$ 15.00/hour depending on experience, with hours worked over 40 paid at time and a half. Employees are paid weekly.

Primary Duties:

  • Yard maintenance: mowing, weed eating, trimming, and applying herbicides to control vegetation
  • Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth
  • Read meters

Experience and Abilities:

  • Safety focused, construction laborer background preferred; including up to 30 foot straight truck or small earth moving equipment such as mini excavator,
  • Ability to perform manual labor and use hand and power tools
  • Ability to learn highway maintenance/construction practices and procedures, including interpreting and applying work zone safety and traffic controls
  • Skill operating and maintaining light/medium/heavy duty trucks and equipment.
  • Ability to complete paperwork and maintain records.

Requirements:

  • A Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • A flexible schedule and ability to be to work all shifts
  • The environment is exclusively outdoors, so applicant must be willing to work in all weather extremes.
  • Work requires alert individuals with good balance, and physical strength
  • Physically, workers must be able to:
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Have full use of arms and hands and the ability to reach for, handle and use objects
  • Frequently lift and carry materials and equipment weighing 50 to 100 pounds
  • Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl

 

Septic Truck Driver

Here at Hydro Tech we are offering a immediate opening for a full-time driver/ serviceman. Experience with driving vehicles with a manual transmission preferred. A basic knowledge on how septic system, grease traps, and pump stations work is a plus. Candidates need to be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be in good physical health. Duties will include digging up the manhole covers, dragging hoses, and bending over while holding the hose to pump the tanks.

The CDL Operator role consists of about 10% driving and 90% labor. Positions include the following responsibilities.

Must have good handwriting, and be able to fill out reports, waste manifests, work orders, and time sheets. Good interpersonal skills and a professional manner are required, as this position will interact daily with our customer service.

Requirements:

Class A or B MUST HAVE AIR BREAKS AND TANKER ENDORSEMENTS

Vacuum truck experience is a plus

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Duties will include providing day to day management, oversight, process control and operation of municipal wastewater treatment plants, groundwater treatment plants, pump stations and distribution and collection systems. Weekend and off shift work is requires. High school diploma or GED required. Must have a minimum C wastewater and C groundwater operator licenses. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license. 3+ years of experience operating activated sludge wastewater treatment facilities and groundwater treatment facilities. Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft word, excel and outlook. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and the general public.

The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA)

is seeking resourceful, talented individuals to join our team!Our newest operation, the Groundwater Reduction Plan (GRP) Division, has been tasked with implementing a cost-effective and reliable solution for decreasing our community’s demand on an overwhelmed groundwater supply.   As part of that solution, the GRP Division is building a 30 MGD surface water treatment plant that is scheduled to be operational in June, 2015.  As part of the initial staffing of this new water treatment plant, the GRP Division is seeking to fill eight surface water treatment plant operator positions: Utility Lead Operators: TCEQ Class “B” Surface Water Operator Certification is required. The qualified applicant should have 6 years of practical hands-on experience in surface water treatment. One year of supervisory experience is preferred. Must have technical writing and report preparation experience.Essential duties include but not limited to: Supervise water treatment, supply and transmission systems,   within the SJRA boundaries. Maintain thorough and timely communications with the Utility Operations Superintendent concerning the systems operations and personnel. Prepare and review Authority and Regulatory reports. Implement, oversee and assist in the development of the systems operations procedures that promote safe, cost-effective and efficient operation of the systems in a manner which ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations by performing all assigned duties.Utility Senior Operator: TCEQ Class “C” Surface Water Operator Certification is required; a TCEQ Class “B” Surface Water Operator Certification is preferred. The qualified applicant should have 5 years of practical hands-on experience in surface water treatment. Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Utility Lead Operator.Utility Operators:  TCEQ class “C” Operator Certification Surface Water, or Ground water with 1 year of practical hands-on experience in the surface water operations field.Essential duties include but not limited to:  Operate water treatment, supply and transmission systems in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Until that time, employees will be required to work a day shift from 8am to 5pm.  At go-live, operators will be assigned to work twelve (12) hour shifts for three (3) consecutive days followed by three (3) days off. The following week will be twelve (12) hour shifts for four (4) consecutive days followed by four (4) days off.  Day shift is 6am to 6pm or 7am to 7pm.  Night shift is 6pm to 6am or 7pm to 7am.
