TDH/CDC is of the opinion that the disinfectant in drinking water is sufficient to kill the virus outside the body if something gets flushed it should be disinfected by the water carrying it. The hospitals are supposed to be taking extra precautions to deactivate the waste prior to sending it down the line. Standard precautions with good hygiene should be adequate protection for operators. If they decide more is required they will contact us.
